Bridgeland Invites All for Aug. 1 Hit-N-Run Concert
Area residents can grab a lawn chair and head out to Bridgeland for a concert by the Hit-N-Run Band 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1.
The free event will be held at the performance pavilion in Lakeland Height’s Festival Park, one of several park areas for Bridgeland’s new traditional neighborhood development. The park is across the street from Lakeland Activity Center, 16902 Bridgeland Landing.
Seen at venues throughout the Houston area, the popular The Hit-N-Run Band plays an eclectic mix of music lead by Sicilian “Godfather” Charlie Cotrone, known for his lively and surprising performances. In addition to music, children can enjoy face painting and a balloon artist. Concessions also will be available.
This is just one of several events Bridgeland has opened to the public this year. Attracting more than 1,500 was the community’s recent Urban Nights festivities, which marked the opening of Lakeland Heights. Planned for Aug. 8 is the “Finish Line Celebration,” following the sold-out Bridgeland Triathlon. Also, an assortment of camps and classes has been open to the public this summer, with self-defense, organic gardening, soccer, drama and cooking still ongoing. An 11,400-acre community, Bridgeland is planned for more than 20,000 homes and 65,000 residents with homes priced from the $160,000s. Bridgeland has been named Master-Planned Community of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders and most recently won Houston’s Best Planned Community of the Year by the Greater Houston Builders Association.
