A Houston man is facing misdemeanor and felony charges of unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of a penalty group 3 controlled substance (less than 28 grams), driving while intoxicated (first time offender, blood alcohol content .08) and possession of a penalty group 2 controlled substance (less than a gram) after being arrested on January 3, 2011, the Harris County Sheriff's Office reported. Mark Allen Helmer, 34 years old, resides at 15025 West Road. He was booked on January 3, 2011.
