Cy-Fair contest-winning mural on display at Orange Leaf
published Aug. 29, 2012
A contest-winning mural designed by a Salyard's Middle School student is now on display at the Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt store off Highway 290 in Cypress.
Salyard's Middle School student Michael Krause designed the mural as part of a Cy-Fair Independent School District art contest held in March, according to a press release. The mural was unveiled during a wall signing and celebratory event held Aug. 20 at the Orange Leaf Cypress location, located at 26321 Northwest Freeway.
Cy-Woods art teacher Charlotte Stuart painted the mural on the store's wall, according to the release. It depicts many of the Cy-Fair district schools and "old" Cypress landmarks near the yogurt store.
Orange Leaf staff donated a $250 check to the Salyard's Middle School Art Department during the unveiling event, and Krause received free frozen yogurt certificates throughout the summer, according to the release.
