The Cy Ridge Rams will try and pull off a big upset when they travel to meet the Cy Woods Wildcats in a key District 15-5A baseball game at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Cy Ridge, which is picked to finish near the bottom of the 15-5A race, finished non-district play with a less-than-stellar 3-7 record.
But the Rams did show signs of life with a 4-0 win over Conroe and a 16-5 victory over Westbury Christian.
However, Cy Woods knocked off Cy Ridge 9-1 in the Conroe Classic earlier in the season.
Cy Ridge is led by the one-two punch of Jared Lakind and Cody Dickerson, who combined to go 17-of-36 with eight home runs and 14 RBIs in the first nine games of the year.
Lakind also was 2-0 on the mound with a 0.00 ERA in 10 innings of work. He had 16 strikeouts and five walks.
