Girl dies after hit-and-run at Bear Creek Park

An 8-year-old girl died at the hospital last night after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver late Monday at Bear Creek Park.
The girl was walking away from the soccer fields with her mother when she ran out into the road and was struck by vehicle.

The driver of a sport utility vehicle, possibly a silver Mitsubishi Montero or Isuzu Trooper, struck Destiny then stopped a short distance away, Houston police said.
A woman got out of the passenger side of the SUV and walked back to where Destiny was lying in the road. She asked if the child was injured then got back into the SUV and left the scene, police said.
