Culture Shapers recognize 13 Cy-Fair ISD students
From a press release:
Thirteen Cy-Fair Independent School District students received awards in the 2009 Culture Shapers Visual Arts contest.
Winners were announced during an awards ceremony on Dec. 2. Culture Shapers, a group of Houston-area businessmen and women dedicated to serving student artists, awarded students with nearly $70,000 in cash prizes in six categories: Drawing, Electronic Media, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography and Sculpture.
CFISD students brought home a total of $11,500 from the competition.
This year's Culture Shapers contest was quite a celebration of the visual arts for our CFISD students and their art teachers," said CFISD art coordinator Sarah Sanders. Our students work incredibly hard to develop their talents and gifts, and it is so rewarding to see their efforts acknowledged. This recognition proves that in our photography, electronic media and art classes, our students are learning to think, create and share their ideas, resulting in amazing artworks."
