HNMC to host inaugural Family Butterfly Walk

Legacy Land Trust and Houston Northwest Medical Center are hosting an inaugural "Family Butterfly Walk" on Saturday, May 15 to encourage families to get outdoors and have healthy fun. The free event will be held at the Montgomery County Preserve, located at 1118 Pruitt Road in Spring (77380).
Activities start at 9 a.m. with registration at the Nature Education Center . Pedometers will be given to the first 200 participants over six years of age as they sign in. Face painting and balloon creations will be available for the kids. All children attending must be accompanied by an adult. A brief presentation about butterflies will be given at 10 a.m. Families can then join in a butterfly count or enjoy a leisurely walk along a one-mile nature trail using maps provided by the Legacy Land Trust.
"This is a great opportunity for families to spend time outside and enjoy the weather, fresh air, and each other's company," says Theresa Lewis, Marketing Manager at Houston Northwest Medical Center . "They can also get some exercise and learn more about butterflies and nature in our own neighborhood."
