CFISD names principal for Gleason Elementary

From a press release:
Melody Goffney, an assistant principal at Postma Elementary School, was named the principal at Gleason Elementary School on Monday. Goffney replaces Sandra McNeely, who will retire in June.
Goffney has spent 12 years in education, 10 of those with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Beginning as a teacher in Aldine ISD, she transferred to Holmsley Elementary School for four years before accepting the instructional specialist position at Lamkin Elementary School for one year. She moved to Duryea Elementary School as an assistant principal and served one year before taking over her current role at Postma, where she has spent the past four years.
Goffney graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston State University and received a Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University. She holds certifications in Elementary Self-Contained (1-8), Early Childhood Education (PK-6), Elementary History (1-8) and Principal (EC-12).
"I am extremely thrilled and honored to be selected as principal for Gleason Elementary for the 2010-2011 school year," Goffney said. "Words cannot express my gratitude to all the district leaders, family and friends who have inspired and mentored me throughout this journey. I'm looking forward to joining the Gleason family on their continued road of academic success for all students."
