Discharge of fireworks not allowed on school property

From a press release:
Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District officials remind New Year's holiday revelers that Texas law prohibits the discharge of fireworks on school district property.
The Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 2154, Subchapter F, Section 2154.251 (a) (1), states that a person may not explode or ignite fireworks within 600 feet of any church, a hospital other than a veterinary hospital, an asylum, a licensed child care center, or a public or private primary or secondary school or institution of higher education unless the person receives authorization in writing from that organization."
Violation of this law that results in property damage in an amount of less than $200 and does not result in bodily injury or death . . . is a Class C misdemeanor," according to Subchapter G, Section 2154.303 (c).
The school district security department will patrol the district's premises during the holidays. Residents who observe such violations are requested to contact the district's security dispatcher at 281-897-4337 or the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable at 281-376-3472. Violators may be issued a citation from Harris County Precinct 4.
