Teen makes grade in class, cycling races abroad
Chronicle reporter Eric Berger sat down with Cy Springs student Lawson Craddock to find out how he's cycled all over the world while remaining in the top 5 percent of his high school class.
From the interview:
Q: How do you balance your time training, racing 60 days a year and traveling with being an 18-year-old senior in high school?
A: My school, Cypress Springs High School, is really good about it. All the teachers and the staff are really supportive. They know this is my dream and they allow me to go out there and live it. I bring a lot of schoolwork with me. I have some excessive absences, but they allow me to make up the hours and I'm on track to graduate in June.
