7 CFISD teams qualify for DI Global Finals

Seven CFISD teams placed high enough at the Destination ImagiNation (DI) State Tournament April 16-17 in Carrollton to qualify for the DI Global Finals in Knoxville, Tenn., May 26-29.
Eleven CFISD teams participating in the statewide competition placed in the top six in their respective divisions.
Global-bound Elementary School Division Winners:
Ault Elementary School
The Seven Lemons placed third in DIrect DIposit. Team members are Kenny Grau, Michael Chan, Calvin Pearce, Bryan Who, Mabry Smith, Riley Reddington and Grace Pereira. The school sponsor is Sheri Hoffman and the team manager is Janet Grau.
Bang Elementary School
DIsteins placed third in DI-Bot. Team members are Austin Quintero, Mitchell Ramirez, Cody Castro, Savannah Migl, Samantha Stone, Catherine Piotrowski and Katy Robbins. The school sponsor is Rodney Garcia and the team manager is Deb Quintero.
Hamilton Elementary School
The Rockets placed fourth in DI-rect DI-posit and were invited to compete at Globals as the Wild Card selection. Team members are Amar Moturu, Madhavi Aadireddy, Alice Cartes, Alex Larkin, Christopher Griffith and Andrew Mattinson. The school sponsor is Betty Collette and the team manager is Sarada Moturu.
Kirk Elementary School
The DI Joes placed second in Do or DI. Team members are Jenna Krenek, Collin Viator, Hunter Jordan, Hannah Pham and Juliet Leger. The school sponsor is Chelsea Cutshall and the team manager is Pam Krenek.
Millsap Elementary School
The Powerful Problem Solvers placed second in DI-Bot. Team members are Stephen Vane, Avery Arroyave and Rene Salinas. The school sponsor is Nicole Barnes and the team manager is Nicola Vane.

Cook Middle School
The DI Dynamites placed second in DI-rect DI-posit. Team members are Kaitlyn Zera, Kevin Turner, Mustafa Khan, David Migl, Mohammad Zaidi, Kathryn Gutierrez and Ali Khan. The team manager is Kathryn Gutierrez.

WilDImagination placed fourth in Do or DI. Team members are Andrew Boushka, Grant Cook, Cameron Frederich, Jacob Fissler, John Willis and Alex Cook.
Global-bound High School Division Winners:
Cy-Fair High School
The Photons placed second in DI-rect DI-posit. Team members are Anoosha Moturu, Sruthi Kumpatla, Brenna Larkin and Paige Ruby. The school sponsor is Elisa Mann and the team manager is Sarada Moturu.

The Duck Tape Ninjas placed fourth in You're Gonna Flip. Team members are Lauren Coats, Laetan Gaspard, Krislyn Koehn, Ally Piotrowski and Trey Stoker. The school sponsor is Cindy Stoker and the team manager is Joan Coats.
Cypress Falls High School
Cy-Falls 2 placed fifth in Do or DI. Team members are Neil Novicio, Ryan Rebagay, Jake Hassell, Adam Waddell and Colin Hamilton. The team manager and school sponsor is Linda Collins.
