Greenwing Day, May 2, gets kids outdoors

From a press release:
Duck hunters and Ducks Unlimited refer to young hunters as Greenwings." The Greater Houston Greenwing Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is sponsoring a Greenwing Day on May 2. The day is filled with hands-on activities focused on getting our youth active in the outdoors. Activities include fishing, retriever and bird dog demonstrations, archery, gun safety, sporting clays shooting, rimfire rifle shooting, rock wall climbing, Brazos Bend State Park Wildlife Exhibit, Texas Parks and Wildlife exhibits and much more. Numerous items have been donated for raffles and door prizes including a variety of outdoor equipment. Hot dogs and refreshments will be served. Each child attending will receive a 1 yr Greenwing membership including the Puddler magazine, membership card and a Greenwing decal. The only cost is that we ask for a donation of two canned goods per person which will be donated to Boys and Girls Country.
Project chairman, Jason Rasco said The 2009 Greenwing Day was a great success with over 200 youngsters and their families taking part. This year we are prepared for a much larger event as more and more people look for an inexpensive way to enjoy the great outdoors."
