Walker receives a wordy donation

Third-grade students at Walker Elementary School
received a generous donation on Monday as the Cy-Fair Republican Women's Club (CFRWC) donated 167 dictionaries for their use.
The CFRWC had a brief presentation for the students during an assembly in the Walker cafeteria on Monday morning, followed by a student skit about dictionary use.
The CFRWC makes a dictionary donation to an area school each year. For 2009-2010, the organization chose Walker-a school in which 66 percent of the student population qualifies for the free lunch program.
"By putting a dictionary in the hands of each third grade student at Walker, the Cy-Fair Republican Women's Club has provided an invaluable
resource to support each child's mastery of reading and writing," said Walker principal Melissa Ehrhardt.
