Ryan and Shanna Marsh have been working diligently to establish the Layla Grace Children's Cancer Research Foundation.
Their daughter, Layla, died of neuroblastoma, a high-risk cancerous tumor which develops from nerve tissue in infants and children and can be deadly, with a less than 30 percent survival rate.
The goal of the new foundation is to raise funds for cancer research, make people aware of neuroblastoma and to provide support to other children fighting cancer and their families.

After a 10-month-long fight with Stage 4 neuroblastoma, 2-year-old Layla Grace died March 9.
Fundraiser planned
Since Layla's passing, the foundation's first official fundraiser, A Taste of Cy-Fair," is June 13 and is an extravaganza featuring samples and items from restaurants and shops in the Cy-Fair area.
The event is from noon 4 p.m. at the North Forest Conference Center and will include moonwalks, crafts and activities for kids and live music and shopping for adults.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the door, and admission includes free food and drink samples from 40 local restaurants.
More details are available online at www.atasteofcyfair.com and all proceeds from the event will benefit the foundation and research.
We promised Layla in her last days that we would live out her legacy and that's what we're going to do," Ryan said.
Our goal is to prevent other little Laylas in hospitals from dying and to fund research to find treatment plans that work," Marsh said. Money needs to be raised and research needs to be done. People don't know about Neuroblastoma and need to know there are little kids dying."
