Man sentenced in drunken driving death of girl

A man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty in the 2008 death of a 13-year-old Nicole Lalime. The man was drunk on the afternoon of Dec. 16, 2008, when he ran three stop signs and hit Lalime as she got off the school bus at the intersection of Lynn and East Cypress Forest.
According to the Chronicle story by Brian Rogers, John Jacob Winne, 32, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for intoxication manslaughter and 10 years for failure to stop and render aid. The prison terms will run at the same time, said state District Judge Joan Campbell. Winne will have to serve at least 15 years, before he is eligible for parole.
Lalime attended Bleyl Middle School at the time of her death.
