SH Race Park may give up live racing in 2011

According to a story written by David Barron, Sam Houston Race Park may relinquish live thoroughbred racing for one year in 2011 as the struggling Texas horse racing industry battles financial hard times.
The horse racing industry is also facing what one industry executive described as dwindling credibility among racing fans nationwide.
Owners and trainers will meet Wednesday at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie to discuss the future of the industry, including 2011 racing plans for Sam Houston Race Park.
