Cypress soldier laid to rest over weekend
U.S. Army Spc. Matthew Ryan Catlett of Cypress was laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery on Saturday. Catlett was killed June 7 by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. Four others from the 101st Airborne Division also died in the blast. Marine Sgt. Brandon C. Bury of Kingwood was also laid to rest Saturday.
According to the Chronicle story by Matt Woolbright and Moises Mendoza, the Patriot Guard Riders led the motorcade toward the grieving crowd at the cemetery, where dozens held American flags to line the last leg of Catlett's journey.
