The Music Man comes to Cypress, July 16-25

From a press release:
An affectionate paean to small-town, U.S.A of a bygone era, Meredith Wilson's 'The Music Man' follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize - this despite the fact he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.
From the same theater who brought you High School Musical 2 and ANNIE, this award winning, critically acclaimed Broadway classic is an All-American institution thanks to its quirky characters, charmingly predicable dramatic situations, rousing marches, barbershop quartets and sentimental ballads that have become popular standards.
With a cast of 60, a LIVE orchestra and performed in the beautiful Berry Center Theater, this production will have you humming the songs all the way home. Performances are Friday's 7/16 & 23 @ 7:30 PM; Saturday 7/17 @ 3 PM; Saturday 7/24 @ 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM; Sunday's 7/18 & 25 @ 2:30 PM.
