CFISD duo earn nods among best

A pair of Cy-Fair ISD baseball players recently were selected to the All-Greater Houston Area first team by Houston 5A Baseball.
Cy-Fair pitcher Seth Harrison and Cy Falls catcher Jake Wise were first-team selections.
Seth did a terrific job for our program,'' said Cy-Fair head coach Woody Champagne. He has played a big part in our success for the past three years.''
Wise has signed with Arkansas, while Harrison has signed to pitch at Hill County Junior College.
Jake Wise is one of the best hitters we have had at the school,'' said Cy Falls head coach Carl McClosky.
Cy Woods' Jared Lakind, who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 23rd round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft, was a second-team selection at first base.
Lakind also has signed a scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas.
Jared is one of those players who doesn't come around too often,'' said Cy Woods head coach Thomas Loria. He deserves all the recognition he gets.''
Cy-Fair pitcher Trey Wall, Cy Falls pitcher Hunter Lemke, who has signed with Navarro Junior College, and Jersey Village desginated hitter Kyle Survance also were selected to the second-team.
Cy Creek first baseman Bill Bay, second baseman Kevin Pappas and outfielder Jordan Lee, and Cy Woods third baseman Brian Lesmeister all were third-team choices.
Houston Christian third-baseman Dustin Selzer, who has signed with Dartmouth, was named Houston 5A Baseball's Greater Houston Area Player of the Year.
Houston Christian shortstop C.J. Jarvis and first baseman Patrick Kilkenny also were first-team selections.
Klein head coach Barry Smith also was named the Coach of the Year after guiding the Bearkats to the Class 5A state-championship game.
