CFISD names principal for Swenke Elementary

From a Cy-Fair ISD press release:
Elizabeth Miller, an assistant principal at McFee Elementary School, was named the new principal at Swenke Elementary School on Friday. Miller replaces Donna Guthrie, who was named the assistant superintendent for elementary administration in May.
Miller has 17 years of experience in education. Beginning her career with six years as a special education teacher at Vestal Central Schools in Vestal, N.Y., Miller arrived at CFISD in 1999 as a special education teacher at Hamilton Elementary School . She served six years in that capacity at Hamilton before accepting the instructional specialist position, serving one year. She then accepted an assistant principal position at Hamilton , serving three years, before transferring to her current role at McFee for the 2009-2010 school year.
Miller received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from St. Lawrence University and a Master of Science in special education from Mount St. Mary's College. She received principal certification from Sam Houston State, and is also certified in PK-12 special education.
I have been so very fortunate since my arrival to CFISD 11 years ago to have been surrounded by outstanding administrators and teachers. This makes the honor of being selected as the next principal of Swenke Elementary even more humbling," Miller said. Ms. Guthrie and her staff have created a warm and caring environment that has already resulted in student success and a strong foundation.
I am so incredibly proud to be a Swenke Snow Leopard and am looking forward to continuing the journey that the staff, students, and parents began such a short time ago. I can't wait to start the 2010-2011 school year."
