Osterman leads Florida Pride in NPF title
Cat Osterman, 2001 graduate of Cypress Springs High School in has won her second consecutive National Pro Fastpitch Championship Series title.
Osterman led her team, the Florida Pride, to a 7-2 victory over the Chicago Bandits. Osterman was electric, pitching her way to a complete game, two hit, two run, seven strikeout performance.
Although this was Osterman’s second championship title in two years, it is the first for the Florida Pride.
Beyond her pro career, Osterman still holds many of the NCAA fastpitch softball records, including the lowest earned run average (ERA) of any pitcher to play college softball.
She was also part of the 2004 and 2008 U.S. National team, where she won an Olympic gold medal at Athens in 2004 and silver in Beijing in 2008.
