Cypress Christian falls to Northland, 42-3
The Northland Christian Cougars defeated an old rival, the Cypress Christian Warriors, Friday night, 42-3 at Northland's home field.
Six years had passed since the two teams had faced one another on the football field and the Cougars took advantage of the opportunity, striking early in the game.
Northland senior QB Jonathan Fleming led his team to a 21-0 first half lead.
Cypress showed promise in the second half, but each offensive push ended in turnover, causing the team to lose momentum. Northland would capitalize on these mistakes, scoring 21 second half points.
The Northland Christian Cougars face their next challenge when they travel to San Antonio to take on San Antonio Christian this Friday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m.
