Cy-Springs alum signs with Vancouver Whitecaps
Willis Forko, a 2002 graduate of Cy-Springs High School, has signed to play soccer for the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Forko started his soccer career at the University of Connecticut. After being drafted in 2006 by Real Salt Lake in the MLS draft, he began to shine as a professional soccer player.
In 2008, after a short stint with the Vancouver Whitecaps, Forko was transferred to play in the Norwegian Premier League.
Now, two years later, Forko returns to the Whitecaps as they prepare to enter the MLS league next season.
“There was a reason we got him here in 2008. He's been playing for three seasons in Norway, two in the top league, and that is good experience,” said Whitecaps Coach Teitur Thordarson.
