Cy-Creek alum returns home for Rice matchup
Recent Cy-Creek High School grad Will Hampton will have a homecoming this weekend when his Northwestern University Wildcats travel south to take on Rice University.
Hampton, who joined Northwestern this season, will be serving the Wildcats as a backup defensive lineman. He has seen limited playing time this year as a freshman.
Two time team captain at Cy-Creek, Hampton earned the 2009 Army Gold Award. He led Cy-Creek to a 17-3 record through two years, with a pair of district championships. He totaled 50 tackles, seven sacks and two forced fumbles, including a fumble return for a TD in his senior season.
Four other Northwestern players will be making their homecoming with Hampton. They include Justan Vaughn of Pearland, Venric Mark of Tomball, Demetrius Dugar of Aldine, and David Nwabuisi of Episcopal/Bellaire.
