Cy-Creek's Keeton leads Cougars past Cy-Ranch, 42-13
The Cy-Creek Cougars (3-2) more than doubled the offensive output of newcomers Cy-Ranch (4-1) in a 42-13 stomping at Ken Pridgeon Stadium Thursday night.
Cy-Creek, the two-time defending district 17 champions, got out to an early lead with a 20-yard pass from Air Force-commit Chuckie Keeton to wide receiver David Lizarrage.
Cy-Ranch's Justin Monsour answered with an 81-yard bomb to wide receiver Keith Ford just one minute later.
Cy-Creek led at the half 29-7 and didn't look back. The Cougars added another 13 points in the game to put the Mustangs away, 42-13.
Cy-Creek's Chuckie Keeton finished 21-29 with 236 yards and one TD. He also led the team in rushing with 102 yards on 16 carries.
Cy-Ranch's Monsour had two TD passes and 17 yards on the game while his top rusher and receiver, Ford, had 81 yards receiving and 67 on the ground.
Overall, Cy-Creek produced 459 yards and 29 first downs to Cy-Ranch's 204 and six.
Cy-Creek is at home Friday against Jersey Village. Cy-Ranch will will take on Cy-Ridge at Pridgeon Stadium Friday.
