Langham Creek's Cocker helps lift East Texas Baptist over LeTourneau
A key assist from 2009 Langham Creek High School graduate Nikole Cocker helped guide East Texas Baptist to a 2-0 victory over rival LeTourneau Thursday in Longview.
Cocker’s assist led to a goal by Rebecca Davis in the second half to give the Tigers a 2-0 edge. That was all East Texas Baptist needed thanks to goalkeeper Cristine Aquino’s third shutout in five conference games.
East Texas Baptist improved to 3-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the American Southwest Conference.
A 2009 graduate of Langham Creek HS, Cocker was a member of the state runner-up team as a senior. She scored one goal as a freshman for East Texas Baptist and has a goal and an assist this season.
The Tigers will host Concordia Texas on Friday.
