SHRP hosts two nights of fireworks for July 4

The holiday weekend heats up with TWO NIGHTS of live racing, great dining and one of Houston's biggest fireworks displays on Saturday, July 3rd and Sunday, July 4th.
The All-American celebration features live Quarter Horse racing, with an extended, 11-race card, beginning at 5 p.m. both days. The Winner's Circle Restaurant, Houston's largest dining destination, will offer a holiday-themed buffet for just $39 per person which includes admission, reserved seating in the Winner's Circle Restaurant, live racing program and one of the best views of the race track as well as the fireworks display. For those looking to book parties of 15 people or more, The Park offers private luxury suite packages providing admission, buffet dining (tax & gratuity included), free general parking, live racing programs, a spectacular view of live racing & fireworks along with a $2 wagering coupon for each guest. SATURDAY, JULY 3rd
The Park welcomes the Jeff Boortz Band (www.jeffboortz.com), one of the top participants in the 2010 Battle of the Bands event, along with special guest Todd Cummings as part of the Verizon Wireless Summer Concert Series on the Bud Light side stage. The bands will perform between races as part of the day's celebration. The Park will also offer activities for kids of all ages including train rides around The Park courtesy of Stan's Trackless Train (www.stanstrain.com) and guests will have access to giveaways and contests from 106.9 The Point's promotions team.
Racing highlights for Saturday include 12 live races and the $15,000 Silestone Stakes.
SUNDAY, JULY 4th
In addition to 12 live races and fireworks, the July 4th Extravaganza will feature a performance by Team Ghost Riders (www.teamghostriders.com), one of the most unique exhibitions touring the country today. Tim Wild Thang" Lepard and his animal friends Charger & Rock, Laramie & Ted, Mega & Dog, and Dakota & Spot make up Team Ghost Riders. This energetic group consists of four monkeys riding dogs and herding sheep in a hilariously entertaining performance.
The weekend also includes face painters and balloon artists on-hand both Saturday & Sunday during live racing events.
Free parking is available on Saturday & Sunday until 6pm; $10 per car from 6pm. General Admission $6 adults; $4 Senior Citizens; kids 12 and under FREE. At 6 p.m. Saturday & Sunday, ticket prices increase to $10 Adults & Senior Citizens; kids 12 and under FREE.
A $39 Winner's Circle buffet package (package includes: general admission; Grande Buffet including tax & gratuity; live racing program; and (1) $2 Wagering Coupon per person.) is available July 3rd & July 4th.
Gates open at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday; first post 5 p.m.; fireworks will take place at approximately 10:15 p.m.
