Cypress resident accused of fraud
Cypress resident Jonathan Pravecek is among the defendants being sued by Hector Cabrera, who alleges that that Pravacek failed to pay him his share of profits from a debt collection agency.
Cabrera filed a lawsuit on Oct. 6 in the Harris County District Court against Raymont E. Martin Jr., also known as Allen, Richards & Associates and Pravecek, doing business as Allen, Richards & Associates, claiming breach of contract and fraud.
The plaintiff claims that he purchased interest in the business for $50,000 and was to be paid quarterly dividends beginning on Jan. 15, 2009. He never received any money and when he went to confront the business owners, he found the office closed. He further claims that calls to the defendants about his money have not been returned.
The plaintiff is seeking damages including actual damages of $50,000, exemplary damages, court costs and any other damages he is entitled to by the court.
Cabrera is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Bernard Boanos.
