Volleyball Preview: Jersey Village hosts Cy Woods Wednesday
The Jersey Village Falcons (14-15) host the Cy Woods Wildcats (35-1) Wednesday at 6 pm.
Jersey Village's 5'10" senior Amy Davault leads the Falcons with an impressive 320 kills for the season and is averaging 5.16 kills per game.
Davault was a 2009 All-District first team selection. She will be looking to 2009 All-District second team selection Caitlyn Cooney for assistance in upending the dominant Wildcats Wednesday. The 5'8" Cooney is averaging 3.17 kills per game.
Cy Woods is ranked #1 in the state and also has a perfect 13-0 record in district competition this year. The Wildcats suffered their only loss of the season on August 27 to the Grapevine Mustangs.
2009 District 15-5A Coach of the Year Ashley Ahlfinger's Wildcats squad features a fearsome triumvirate. 5'9" senior Daniela Arenas leads the team with 229 kills and was a 2009 All-District first team selection.
Fellow Wildcat 2009 All-District first team selection 6'0" junior Sarah Nielsen has 67 kills in only 15 games for a team leading 4.47 kills per game average.
5'7" sophomore Chloe Collins is the youngest member of the fearsome threesome and was All-District Newcomer of the Year in 2009.
