Man sues Cy-Fair logistics company for Aldine Westfield Road accident

A man is suing a company and its employee, claiming he sustained serious injuries when the company's employee failed to yield, causing the man's car to flip.

Mark Vernon Hicks filed suit in Harris County District Court on Oct. 7, claiming Calvin Fletcher, of Aldine, drove negligently when, while turning north onto Aldine Westfield Road from Strawn Road, he failed to yield and keep proper lookout, resulting in a collision with Hicks, who was traveling southbound on Aldine Westfield.

Fletcher's reckless maneuver blocked the entire roadway of Aldine Westfield.  To avoid crashing into Fletcher, Hicks swerved, flipping his car.

Benchmark Logistics, of Cy-Fair, is also negligent, Hicks claims, as Fletcher was operating his vehicle under the scope of his employment with the company.

In his suit, Hicks alleges he was seriously and permanently injured as a result of his car flipping over because of Fletcher's careless driving.

It was the responsibility of both Fletcher and Benchmark Logistics, to make sure Fletcher operated his vehicle in a safe and legal manner.

Hicks is being represented by Houston attorney Ciano Pasta.  He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, as well as attorney's fees.
