Volleyball preview: Cy-Fair v. Cy-Lakes
Cy-Lakes visits Cy-Fair in District 17-5A volleyball action Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
Cy-Lakes has an overall record of 10-18 and are 2-11 in District play. The girls won their last match in three games against Cy-Springs, 25-12, 25-13, and 25-23.
Sydni Oliver, a senior, led the team to victory with nine kills.
Against Cy-Fair, Cy-Lakes will turn to two of their big guns for success.
Davina Fatuni, a 6' junior, leads the squad with 94 kills. She has a 3.13 kills per game average. Christie Johnson, a 57senior, has recorded 47 kills on the season and she has a 2.76 kills per game average.
The team leader in kills per game is Vavina Satunbi. She has a 3.67 kills per game average.
Cy-Fair has an overall record of (25-8) and they are and equally impressive (11-2) in District play.
The Bobcats won their last match in 4 games against Cy-Creek, 25-10, 22-25, 25-13 and 25-17.
Sarah Teel, a 5'8" senior, had a monster game with 13 kills. Teel is second on the squad with 79 kills on the year. Emily Wright, a 5'8" junior, is the player to watch for Houston Cy-Fair. Wright leads the team with 182 kills and a 4.23 kills per game average.
After Wednesday's match, Cy-Fair will host Cypress Falls on Friday.
Cy-Lakes will host Langham creek on the same day.
