Cy Ranch hosts Cy Springs in district action
The Cy-Ranch Mustangs (4-2) host the Cy-Springs Panthers (0-6) Thursday night.
Cy-Ranch was defeated 42-30 by Cy-Ridge last week. It was the Mustangs second consecutive loss after starting the season 4-0. Cy-Ranch is allowing opponents an average of 27 points per game while the Mustangs are only averaging 25 points per game.
Cy-Ranch running back Keith Ford is averaging nearly 6 yards per carry and 25 yards per reception. He has combined for 10 touchdowns and 987 yards this season.
Mustangs quarterback Justin Monsour has thrown 6 touchdowns and has 649 passing yards while throwing two interceptions this year.
Monsour's top target is Deandre Liggins who has a team leading three touchdown receptions.
Cy-Springs lost 31-7 to Cy-Fair last week and remain winless for the season. The Panthers offense averages 110 passing yards and 199 rushing yards per game while the defense is averaging 39 tackles per game.
Panthers quarterback Afton Williams has combined for 746 yards and five touchdowns but has also thrown five interceptions.
Running back Babatunde Leshi leads the team with 420 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns while Xavier Johnson and Markeith Clark have combined for two touchdown receptions and 245 receiving yards.
Cy-Springs Josh Woodard has been a stalwart defensively. He is averaging more than 12 tackles per game and his 51 tackles are twice as many than any other Panther defender.
Kickoff is set for 7 pm at The Berry Center.
