Woman sues after slipping on grapes
A woman is suing a grocery store after she slipped and fell on grapes.
Wanda Abdulla filed suit in Harris County District Court on Oct. 14, stating the H.H. Butt Grocery Store, located at 4301 Windfern, failed to keep the premises of its grocery safe when grapes that had fallen onto the floor were not removed.
In her suit, Abdulla alleges she was seriously injured as a result of the fallen grapes, which made the floor slick.
It was the responsibility of the store, she says, to be sure the floor was not a hazard, or to warn shoppers of the potential hazard caused by the grapes.
Abdulla is being represented by Houston attorney Tanika Soloman. She is seeking exemplary damages, as well as court costs.
