Volleyball preview: Cy-Creek v. Jersey Village
Cy-Creek visits Houston Jersey Village in District 17-5A volleyball action on Tuesday.
The Cougars won their last match to Cy-Ranch in five games, 18-25, 25-16, 25-21, 17-25, and and17-15. The victory lifted Cypress Creek to 10-23 overall and 5-10 in district play.
Kelsi Turner, a 5’9’’senior, led Cy-Creek with 14 kills in the match. Turner leads the Cougars with 86 kills and a 2.53 kill per game average. Morgan Chenoweth, a 5’10’’ junior,has 42 kills and a 2.21 kill per game average.
As a team, Cypress Creek has 210 total kills for a 2.44 kill per game average.
Houston Jersey Village won their last match over Cypress Ridge in four games, 16-25, 25-17, 25-11, and 25-16. The win moved the Falcons to 15-16 overall and 9-5 in district play.
Amy Davault led Jersey Village with 21 kills in the match. Davault, a 5’10’’ senior, leads the Falcons with 352 kills and a 4.95 kill per game average. She has 352 of the team’s 371 total kills.
Caitlyn Cooney, a 5’8’’ junior has the Falcons’ 19 other kills.
Tonight’s match is slated for 6:00 p.m.
