Volleyball preview: Cy-Woods v. Langham Creek
Cy-Woods will try to remain undefeated in district play against Houston Langham Creek in District 17-5A volleyball action on Tuesday.
Cy-Woods is 37-1 overall and 15-0 in district play. Cy-Woods won their last match over Cypress Springs in three games, 25-9, 25-6, and 25-8. Daniela Arenas and Sarah Nielsen each had 11 kills.
Arenas, a 5’9’’senior, leads the team with 253 kills and a 4.87 kill per game average. Nielsen, a 6’0’ junior, is second on the squad with78 kills and a 4.33 kill per game average.
As a team, Cy-Woods has 336 kills on the season for a 4.67 kill per game average.
Houston Langham creek won their last match over Cy-Lakes in three games, 25-22, 26-24, and25-17. The win moved Langham Creek to14-22 overall and 7-7 in district games. Junior Regan Jenkins led the Lobos with nine kills in the match.
Freshman Erin Markey leads the team with 75 kills and a 3.41 kill per game average. As a team, the Lobos have 174 kills on the season for a 2.85 kill per game average.
Tonight’s match is slated for 6:00 p.m.
