Jersey Village alum named Concordia player of the week
Jersey Village HS 2008 grad Sammy Ladewig was named player of the week at Concordia University of Texas.
Sammy made her first collegiate volleyball start in the Sept. 28th sweep over Schreiner University, collecting a double-double -- dishing out 21 assists and recording 11 digs in the match. The freshman led Concordia to a 2-2 record on the week including ASC conference wins over East Texas Baptist and Schreiner.
In the win against ETBU, Ladewig recorded a season high 28 assists and recorded 12 digs. For the week Sammy averaged 22 set assists and nine digs per match.
The freshman biology major is the daughter of Brian and Sandra Ladewig.
CTX will try to improve their 9-12 record as they face McMurry on Oct. 22 at home. First serve is at 6 p.m. CST.
