Man shot to death at apartment complex near Pinemont
A man was found shot to death outside an apartment complex early this morning in northwest Houston.
The shooting occurred in the 7500 block of Pinemont near Langfield at the Shadow Creek Apartments about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
Police said the man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been shot at least once in the chest. He is in his 40s.
No other injuries were reported.
Patrol officers dispatched to the scene discovered the man lying on the ground in a common area at the complex, police said. Television station KPRC, quoting a Houston homicide investigator, said the man was found near the complex's pool and about 30 yards from his front door.
The station reported that the police were questioning one person in connection wtih the shooting.
Residents at the complex told police they heard at least once shot and then saw the man outside on the ground.
Police have no suspects in the case and don't know what sparked the gunfire.
