Tomball woman sues after property purchase
A woman is suing after signing a land contract.
Cheryl Wallingford filed suit in Harris County District Court on Oct. 26, stating that Jeanne Marcantel engaged in fraud and deceptive trade practices to entice her to purchase property located at McPhail St. in Tomball.
In her suit, Wallingford alleges she suffered financial damages and mental anguish as a result of Marcantel's unethical and illegal business practices.
It was the responsibility of Marcantel, Wallingford says, to conduct business in accordance with the laws of Texas.
Wallingford is representing herself. She is seeking actual damages, exemplary damages, attorney's fees, and court costs.
