St. Cuthbert Church celebrates diversity
St. Cuthbert Episcopal Church will host its Fifth Annual International Festival on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., honoring all of the different countries and backgrounds represented in the church's diverse congregation.
"Children can tour all of the booths present, which will be various countries that are represented by members of our congregation," said Karen Cook, organizer of the event. "We will also have a treasure hunt game where children will answer questions about a country by hunting for that particular booth."
The festival includes food, games, entertainment, native dress and lots of childrens' activities.
Children will be issued passports and use flag stickers to mark the countries they visit.
Countries represented last year included Jamaica, Grenada, St. Lucia, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Trinidad, Tobago, Antigua, Barbados, Spain, Russia, Japan, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Liberia, Ghana, Kenya, Germany, Italy, Scotland, Switzerland, England, France and Latvia as well as the state of Texas. Thailand is expected to be added this year.
St. Cuthbert is located at the corner of West Road and Queenston at 17020 West Road.
