Cy-Fair ISD retains incumbents Ogletree, Covey, Ryan
Voters in the Cy-Fair ISD retained three incumbents on their school district's Board of Trustees in last night's election.
John Ogletree Jr., pastor of First Metropolitan Church and the sitting board president, won with 60.5 percent of the total over local attorney Bill Henderson, who took in 39.5 percent.
The board's vice president was also narrowly re-elected. Bob Covey, who is also vice president of sales at American Alloy Steel LLC as well as a certified teacher, won 51.7 percent of the vote. Challenger Scott Adams, vice president/branch manager of the Champions Branch of Whitney National Bank, won 48.3 percent of ballots
The final incumbent, Don Ryan, who also owns insurance agency Don Ryan & Associates, won with 43.5 percent. His opponents were Kay Smith, owner of Smith Street Jewelry (who took in 31.9 percent) and Brad West, owner of Rain Forest Car Wash and Lube (with 24.7 percent).
