Volleyball: Cypress Fair defeats Alief Taylor
Houston Cypress Fair defeated Alief Taylor in 5A bi-district volleyball playoffs on Tuesday.
Cy-Fair won the match in three games, 25-9, 25-10 and 25-13. The Bobcats are now 31-8 overall and 16-2 in district play.
Kylie Schott, a 6-foot, 1-inch junior, led the Bobcats with eight kills in the match. Schott has 54 kills on the season. Emily Wright, a 5-foot, 8-inch junior, leads the team with 193 kills and a 4.2 kill per game average. Sarah Teel, a 5-foot, 8-inch senior, has 85 kills for a 3.4 kill per game average.
As a team, Cypress Fair has 372 kills for a 3.68 kill per game average.
Alief Taylor ended their season 12-14 overall and 7-5 in district action.
Kelichi Kelu, a 5-foot, 2-inch junior, and Lakeisha Mays, a 5-foot, 6-inch senior, each had three kills in the match for Alief Taylor.
Taylor Swayzer, a 5-foot, 8-inch senior, led the Lions this year with 177 kills and a 3.05 kill per game average. The Lions, as a team, had 243 kills for a 2.86 kill per game average.
