Lone Star College-CyFair to host community forum

Lone Star College-CyFair will be hosting a community forum Nov. 17 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Conference Center, room 153, at 9191 Barker Cypress.

The forum is for community industry partners as well as students, faculty and staff to comment on several Lone Star College System Workforce programs.

The workforce programs to be reviewed this year are Medical Assisting, Interpreter Training and Nursing, Licensed Vocational Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing.

Program review is the process for evaluating a program to improve, enhance, and/or determine the viability of the program. The process involves a series of steps involving faculty, staff, former students and administrators in the preparation of a self-study document, as well as community and industry partners to provide input.

The Lone Star College System Workforce programs undergo program review for quality assurance every three years according to the published/established schedule, in accordance with Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) guidelines.

Dean Ted Lewis will facilitate the forum, in which program leaders must prepare a 20-minute presentation on the collective data in recent program reviews and focus on any corrective actions, activities and future plans.
