HS football: Cypress Falls defeats Cypress Lakes
Houston Cypress Falls overcame Houston Cypress Lakes in a 61-21 victory at Berry Center Thursday night in district football action.
Houston Cypress Falls (overall 7-3, district 6-3) averaged over 5 yards per carry with 193 yards on the ground combined with 320 passing yards for 185 more yards in offense than Houston Cypress Lakes (overall 1-9, district 1-8).
Houston Cypress Lakes lost 35 yards to five penalties. It was dominated through the third quarter with only one touchdown, a 72-yard pass to Dyron Johnson thrown by quarterback Jonathon Bowen.
Teammates Bowen and Jeremy Marshall, combined, went 23 of 43 for 210 yards with three touchdowns.
The duo showed off their skills in the fourth quarter when Bowen found Damitri Morris for a 6-yard touchdown pass and Marshall threw to Jarrod Bolton for a 30-yard touchdown pass, leaving Houston Cypress Falls scoreless and dominated by 14 points in the fourth quarter by Houston Cypress Lakes.
The win here will keep Houston Cypress Falls in the top five for the district.
