Cy-Fair 30 Jersey Village 13
John Jacob ran ten times for 105 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown run, as Cy-Fair thumped Jersey Village Friday night, 30-13.
The Bobcats (8-2) spotted the Falcons (1-9) an early lead, starting slowly before running away with it.
Jersey Village running back Victor Brown's (17 carries, 74 yards) five-yard run put the Falcons up 6-0, a lead they held for most of the first quarter.
Cy-Fair quarterback Chris Mangram (6 of 13, 11 yards, two touchdowns) connected with wide receiver Drew May on a 37-yard touchdown pass with 19 seconds remaining in the first quarter to get the Bobcats on the board.
On Jersey Village's subsequent possession, junior Trevor Mendes blocked a Travis Jatzlau punt and returned it 32 yards for a touchdown to put the Bobcats up 14-6, then Jacob ripped off his 64-yard score to extend the lead to two scores.
Quarterback Connor Chapin's one yard sneak cut the Bobcats' lead to 21-13, but a Mangram-to-Christian Cook 23-yard touchdown pass made it 27-13 at intermission.
Jersey Village only managed 98 yards rushing and 109 passing.
Cy-Fair moves on to the District 17-5A playoffs.
