Houston man suing sheet metal company over hand injury
Neris Campos filed suit in Harris County District Court on Thursday, Nov. 11, against Mason Road Sheet Metal, saying that he injured his hand while cutting sheet metal.
In the suit, Campos says that in January 2009, while employed at Mason Road Sheet Metal, he was operating a "spinner" or spinning machine when his glove was caught, pulling his right hand into the machine. He sustained a serious and debilitating injury. Campos says that Mason Road Sheet Metal should have provided warning of unsafe working conditions and equipment, and says it did not provide adequate supplies or safety training.
Campos is seeking damages for lost earning capacity, medical expenses, past and future physical disfigurement and mental anguish.
Matthews is being represented in the case by the Houston lawyer Domingo Garcia.
