Spring Valley business owner says former employee breached contract
A Spring Valley business owner sues former employee over bad-mouthing.
Curtis Hargis filed a lawsuit on Nov. 17 in the Harris County District Court against Suzanne O'Hara, from Cypress, alleging breach of contract, defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Hargis hired O'Hara as an accountant for his business, Circle Supply. He says she quit voluntarily in March of 2010. She then applied for unemployment benefits. After being denied those benefits, Hargis says O'Hara embarked on a campaign to injure his good name. According to the brief, O'Hara spread false and misleading information about him and his company.
Hargis is seeking compensatory and exemplary damages as well as court costs.
He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Bryan Mitchell.
