Cy-Falls alum breaks UTSA record
Former Cy-Falls standout and current University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Roadrunners' senior guard Devin Gibson broke the UTSA career steals record during a 77-73 loss to Evansville on the road Wednesday.
Gibson compiled four steals during the game, giving him 238 career steals and breaking former Roadrunner and current Rogers State Head Coach Lloyd Williams' UTSA record of 237 career steals.
His record-breaking steal and ensuing layup tied the game at 71 with 1:48 remaining in the contest.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Gibson also finished with 21 points and five rebounds and dished for four assists during the loss to Evansville.
He has averaged 12.4 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, 4.3 assists per game and 2.7 steals per game during his UTSA career.
At Cy-Falls he was District 17-5A MVP, averaging 12.5 points per game, six assists per game and four rebounds per game as a senior.
UTSA (1-1) hosts Cameron Friday at 5 p.m.
