Whitfield returns to National Finals Rodeo
Cy-Fair High School 1981 alum Fred Whitfield will head to the National Finals Rodeo.
The National Finals Rodeo will be held the first week of December, where Whitfield will attempt to win his ninth world championship.
The 51st annual Las Vegas event also will see the 43-year-old Whitfield attempt to tie the record for most tie-down roping titles, which would be his eighth.
Whitfield currently ranks fifth in the PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Standings with $76,466.
The 10-day National Finals will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada from Dec. 2 through Dec. 11.
The rodeo star currently lives in Hockley, Texas.
