"Anne of Green Gables" auditions to be held Dec. 4

The Houston Family Arts Center (HFAC) will be holding auditions for the Teen Actors Guild's Cy-Fair-area production of "Anne of Green Gables."

Directed by Sam Brown and adapted by Peter DeLaurier from the novel by L. M. Montgomery, "Anne of Green Gables" provides teen actors grades seven through 12 the opportunity to perform on the HFAC Garza Mainstage.

Auditions will take place on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at HFAC, located in Northwest Houston at 10760 Grant Road. Callbacks, if needed, will be on Monday, Dec. 6, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Actors can make an appointment by e-mailing auditions@houstonfac.com for an audition time slot. Please be sure to include your phone number in your request. Auditions will be performed in front of an audition panel. Resume and headshot appreciated.

Auditions will consist of two contrasting, one-minute, memorized monologues.

Students cast in the show must pay a $225 production fee for a script, costume, cast T-shirt, cast photo, two tickets to an opening weekend show and instruction by a professional actor.  A limited number of scholarships are available.

Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Not all actors will be required at all Thursday rehearsals. A final rehearsal schedule will be provided at auditions.

The show runs Feb. 11 through Feb. 20, on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m. Call is one hour before curtain.
