HS boys basketball: Cy-Ranch defeats Mont Belvieu
Cypress Ranch defeated Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill in boys high school basketball on Monday.
Cy-Ranch won the game 60-52, moving it to 2-1 on the season. Kyle McElroy, a senior guard, had 13 points in the victory to lead Cypress Ranch. Spencer Collins, a senior guard, and Marcus Haraway, a 5-foot, 10-inch junior guard, each added 11 points in the winning effort. Keith Ford, a sophomore guard, leads Cy-Ranch in scoring on the season at 17 points per game.
A trip to Houston Stratford on Monday at 7 p.m. is up next for Cypress Ranch.
Monday's loss dropped Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill to 0-3 on the year.
Carson Asbury, a 6-foot, 5-inch senior, had 13 points to lead Barbers Hill in the loss. Alex Daugereaux added 11 points in the contest.
Port Neches-Groves plays at Barbers Hill today at 7:30 p.m.
